Let’s Get Started ….
Complete the Quilt Intake Form
When you complete and submit your quilting intake form, you are placed in the quilting queue. Your quilt will be scheduled for quilting once I have your physical quilt in hand and you will receive a confirmation email and an estimation of completion date.
Select your quilting design
If you have a specific digital design or preference in mind, provide the name or preference description in the intake form. If you aren’t sure what design would provide the perfect accent to your quilt (because sometimes you need that “other set of eyes”), let’s decide together.
eMail a picture of your quilt, and I will provide three digital design options that I think will enhance your quilt. You make the final decision!
Select your batting
Batting choices can be confusing. While you can certainly provide your own batting, I stock a variety of batting options, including 100% cotton, 80/20% cotton-wool blend, 100% wool and bamboo/silk blend. Batting charges vary by choice and current prices are detailed in the quilt intake form.
Select your thread
Thread preference is a highly personal choice! My design preference is to match the thread to the fabrics in your quilt that are the lightest in value — and I tend to lean towards neutrals if possible. I also standardize on Glide thread — and I do not charge extra for thread used in the quilting process.
Because matching thread to a quilt without the physical quilt is unrealistic, I suggest we agree on thread once I receive the quilt and can provide you with thread options. If you have a firm choice of thread and wish to provide thread for quilting, please include it with your quilt and note appropriately on the intake form.
Send me your quilt
If you are local to the Durham, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough area, I would be happy to arrange a mutually acceptable pick-up. If you are not, quilt tops can be easily mailed and insured via USPS.
